Show: $40 Showtimes: 6:00pm (Doors Open 5:30pm) 8:15pm (Doors Open 7:45pm) New York based and Canadian born singer, trumpeter, and songwriter Bria Skonberg has been described as one of the “most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation” (Wall Street Journal). Bria has stormed onto the jazz scene with her smoky vocals, blistering trumpet, and compelling compositions and arrangements. The Juno Award winner has sung the music of Aretha Franklin alongside Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, played with U2 at the iconic Apollo Theater, sat in with the Dave Matthews Band, was a featured guest with Jon Batiste, performed as part of The Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour, and sang the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden for a NY Rangers game. With her 2024 release, Bria solidified her artistry, mastering her signature style as one of the most distinctive artists in jazz. What It Means Is a career-defining album, inspired by the sounds of New Orleans jazz. “Pure sonic ebullience is in full display on Skonberg’s latest album What It Means, which mashes traditional jazz sounds and tunes with more modern jazz and even pop styles,” wrote Lee Mergner for WBGO. Bria has a multitude of new and exciting music in store for audiences, with a holiday EP released in late 2025, and two albums out in 2026: one trumpet-focused and one vocal-forward. All of which she’ll be bringing to the stage alongside her quintet. Andy was Lecturer of Jazz Bass at The Ohio State University from 2004-2018, and has performed at the Montreux, North Sea, Saratoga, and Newport Jazz Festivals and toured Sweden and Japan.

He has worked with notable bandleaders Johnny O’Neal, Wessell Anderson, Willie Jones III, Philip and Winard Harper, Christian Howes, Houston Person, Tia Fuller, Bria Skonberg, as well as many others in New York and throughout the Midwest. He is active nationally as a bandleader and educator, and has worked with programs including Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Jazz for Young People, Christian Howes’ Creative Strings Workshop, and Keith Hall's Summer Drum Intensive.

Show: $10 Showtimes: 6:00 - 7:30 (Doors Open 5:30) 8:15 - 9:45 (Doors Open 7:45) Kirkatron was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1997 as a means to celebrate, honor, and enjoy the music of Rahsaan Roland Kirk. Led by Jon Eshelman, the band performs music that was composed and/or recorded by Kirk, who was also a Columbus native. Kirkatron uses three saxophonists to perform the arrangements that Rahsaan was able to perform all on his own with his unique ability to play three saxophones at once. While no one can recreate or approach Rahsaan’s amazing musicianship, it is Kirkatron’s mission to make sure his music continues to be played and appreciated in his hometown.

A 2010 graduate of Capital University with a degree in Music Performance, Tony has built a multifaceted career spanning continents, genres, and performance settings. Internationally, he has performed across China, Japan, South Korea, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and throughout the Caribbean. In the U.S., his versatility shines through performances ranging from intimate jazz clubs to grand concert halls and stadiums. He appears regularly as a soloist, leads his own jazz trio and quartet, and collaborates with a wide range of ensembles—averaging six performances a week. Tony curates and directs his long-running concert series at the Columbus Museum of Art, following in the footsteps of his late teacher, Mark Flugge, and late Otterbein colleague, Richard Lopez. He serves as the sanctuary music director at Hilliard United Methodist Church. In addition, he owns and operates Noteworthy Music, a multi-teacher lesson studio, and A Note Above the Rest Entertainment, a music entertainment booking company. A sought-after collaborator, Tony has performed with Grammy Award winners including Tamika Lawrence, appeared with Ne-Yo for Columbus Symphony Orchestra's sold-out “Picnic with the Pops” concert, shared the stage with platinum-selling artists Nas and the Violent Femmes, and played up front in rhythm sections for Rick Ross and Aubrey Logan. His credits also include performances with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, Byron Stripling’s quintet, many regular performances with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, New Albany Symphony Orchestra and many others. He has worked with Broadway stars, American Idol finalists, and artists across jazz, classical, R&B, country, rock, and more. He was motivated and drawn to music early in life, beginning piano lessons at the age of six. This early musical intuition led Ben to explore improvisation and Jazz. He developed his craft within the University of Toledo Music Department, graduating with a Bachelors degree in music performance with a Jazz concentration. During his time at UT, Ben had the opportunity to be mentored by and play with acclaimed Jazz and Classical musicians including Claude Black, Tim Whalen, Gunnar Mossblad, Jon Hendricks, and Tad Weed. He has also had the opportunity the to share the stage with other notable jazz greats such as, Shawn and Darden Purcell, Gilad Atzmon, Vic Juris, Michael Cox, Shawn Dobbins, Bobby Sanabria, and many others. Ben is active in the Greater Toledo and Columbus music scenes, as a new Columbus Ohio resident, as both a bandleader and an accompanist. Notably, he has been featured twice at the Jazz Master’s Concert Series at the Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor, and was a finalist in the 2013 ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Competition. His velvety Lo-Fi sounds are a vibe-heavy soul party, fusing modern trap, 70s funk, and fiery Southern gospel. He writes for pure enjoyment. “The way I go about writing, I’m like extreme Southern hospitality. I’ll always have something for you. I won’t let you leave until you take something with you.”, he said. Singing choir by age 5, Nathan is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in saxophone and flute, as well as production and composition. Though he may defy genre constructs, Nathan-Paul is a Jazz Studies graduate from the University of Akron, and is improvising all the time - influenced by greats Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong.

She has been playing the saxophone since she was 8 years old, and has been a sidewoman in a multitude of bands (including Folkfaces and Buffalo Afrobeat Orchestra) for over a decade. Pieroni’s smooth-infused soul jazz band Ellen Pieroni & the Encyclopedia of Soul, or EoS, was recently featured on NPR’s All Things Considered as one of three “jazz stand outs” for this year’s Tiny Desk Contest, where Felix Contreras said that “soul jazz is alive and well with…Ellen Pieroni & the Encyclopedia of Soul.” Although the group is inspired by artists such as Grover Washington Jr., King Curtis, and the Crusaders, EoS puts an emphasis on new original music. The sound is driven by Pieroni’s captivating and soulful melodies, supported by thoughtful improvisation from all members over deep pocket grooves.

Rooted in gospel, jazz, R&B, and soul, her sound is shaped by stories of faith, growth, love, and becoming. A third-generation musician and North Dakota native, she grew up immersed in music and began her journey as a saxophonist, an influence that continues to shape her phrasing, musical instincts, and deep respect for musicianship. She is intentional about selecting and creating music that has shaped her into the woman and musician she is today. Her work is driven by lived experience and emotional honesty, with a desire to connect with people rather than perform at them. Each month, she thoughtfully curates an experience, not just a show, creating spaces where listeners can reflect, feel seen, and be fully present in the moment. She currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, with her dog, Rosco, and an apartment full of plants. Beyond the stage, she remains deeply rooted in service and community, serving as the Director of Learning Centers for The Salvation Army. When she is not making music, she finds joy in reading, running, baking, and cooking, always pursuing a full, grateful, and joyful life. Music is how she shares that journey, inviting others into moments of growth, healing, and connection.Born and raised in Minot, North Dakota, Jasmine is the daughter of two music educators. She moved to the Columbus area in 2017 to complete her degree in music education at Ohio Wesleyan University. Jasmine teaches middle school for Columbus City Schools and is a teaching artist for the Jazz Arts Group. Influenced by jazz, blues, soul, funk, and R&B, Jasmine brings a diverse body of repertoire to the table. Dove earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies from UNC-Greensboro’s Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program. Upon finishing his degree, Robert moved to San Diego in 2013, where he began his professional career. He also is on staff witht the Jazz Arts Group as an Artist Teacher, and the Artist Director for the Jazz Academy on Tour; A group that teaches the fundamentals and preservation of Jazz Music, history, and traditions in the community and schools. Dove has had the opportunity to perform at a multitude of venues and events spanning the United States, Canada, and Europe. He has performed and recorded alongside John Ellis, Marcus Roberts, Lee Konitz, Wessel “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Jason Marsalis, Donny McCaslin, Peter Bernstein, , Frank Stallone, Jim Rupp, Bobby Floyd, Gene Walker, and other prominent musicians. He is well versed in the traditions of jazz, and uses this facility to arrange, compose, perform, and educate with multiple groups throughout Southern California, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Robert currently leads his own group, the Robert Dove Quintet, featuring his debut album “Paradigm Shift” featuring Gilbert Castellanos and Marshall Hawkins, which highlights the influences of jazz royalty, but with a more modern approach. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, USA, Shaun developed a love for music at a young age and started singing in her Grandfather's church. Shaun Booker's career in music began when she released Upstairs Downstairs in 1998. Since then, Shaun has released multiple albums, including Shaun Booker Live at Last @ the Alrosa Villa, Shaun Booker Live in Marietta at The Lafayette Hotel, Blue Plate Special and Angry Blues, each showcasing her unique style and evolution as an artist. Shaun has toured extensively throughout Europe and South America, performing at major venues and festivals. Her electrifying performances have earned her a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim, with music transcending language and cultural barriers. In addition, Shaun is known for her philanthropic efforts and advocacy work, using her platform to raise awareness and support for important issues. With her unmistakable talent and dedication to her craft, Shaun continues to make an impact on the international music scene and inspire fans around the world. Colin Lazarski began playing guitar at the age of 10 and went on to play in numerous jazz and blues bands throughout his high school and college years. After studying at Capital University under local jazz great Stan Smith, Colin became a professional musician in and around central Ohio. An incredibly versatile guitarist, Colin is accomplished in a variety of styles including jazz, blues, rock, funk and even calypso. It is that very flexibility that allows him to easily meld with a wide range of players.

Johnson has released nearly 20 albums and performed over three thousand concerts internationally with artists like Anthony Braxton, Geri Allen, Mary Halvorson, David Grisman, Tyshawn Sorey, Ingrid Laubrock, Henry Grimes, Candido Camero, Sam Bush, Nels Cline, and many more. He has composed commissions for the Jerome Foundation, Society of Composers Inc, University of Glasgow, has been featured on over seventy albums, and can be heard in Spike Lee’s Academy Award winning film, “The BlacKkKlansman”. For this concert, Max Johnson presents his incredible trio with Neta Raanan on tenor saxophone and Eliza Salem on drumset, celebrating the trio's 2024 album, "I'll see you again" on Adhyropa Records. This trio explores Johnson’s more traditional jazz compositions inspired by innovators Charles Mingus, Mal Waldron, and Thelonious Monk, while always featuring Johnson's unique energetic and chaotic soundworld.
